Michael Irvin says the Packers have let Aaron Rodgers down
Former Dallas Cowboys star Michael Irvin is of the opinion that the Packers have let back-to-back MVP, Aaron Rodgers, down this season. Talking about the Packers’ recent form on ESPN’s ‘First Take’, Irvin said he feels there is something personal going on at Green Bay.
“Well, it’s something personal going on with Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers is coming off back-to-back MVPs. That means you are running this football team. The last few years Aaron Rodgers has been running this football team. Now Aaron Rodgers has dropped off, and they have started to look like they are looking right now,” Irvin said.
He then criticized the Packers’ front office for letting Rodgers down.
“I am just saying, man, there is no way you get this man and put him in that situation. I have been on Aaron Rodgers for the way he has been trying to go at the receivers. The reality is I need to be on that front office for the way they have let this man down. I don’t know how they came into this season with a back-to-back MVP and thinking that what they gave him is good enough,” he went on criticizing the Packers front office.
Packers season so far
This season hasn’t gone as the Rodgers and Packers fans would have anticipated. The Packers have won just three games out of the eight they have played. The team is on a four-game losing streak.

After losing the opening game of the season from divisional rivals the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay went on a three-game winning streak. But since that streak, they have lost all four games they have played. The team sits second on the NFC North division table behind the 6-1 Vikings.
Rodgers himself has thrown 1800 yards so far this season. He has thrown 13 touchdown passes and four interceptions. His pass completion rate stands at 66.4%. In the Packers’ last game against the Buffalo Bills, he managed 203 yards of passing with 19/30 completions. Rodgers managed to throw two touchdown passes while the Bills’ defense intercepted him once in the game. The Packers lost 17-27.
