The contractual situations are heating up in the offseason. It is officially that time of the year when the contracts are in development and teams extend deals for a long time. This year is significant for Lamar Jackson, who has not had a lengthy money deal. New York Giants‘ Daniel Jones also joined in the fray. Both QBs have new developments, but the NFL fandom has different emotions for both of their deals.
After months of negotiation, the Baltimore Ravens failed to reach a deal with star QB Lamar Jackson. The franchise eventually placed a non-exclusive franchise tag on LJ. On the contrary, Daniel Jones was fighting for a lengthy contract with the Giants and bagged a four-year $160 Million deal.

Robert Griffin III pulled some statistics among quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Daniel Jones. Both athletes had substantial differences in figures, and Jackson looked like a winner. RG3 added, “If teams don’t want Lamar, why were the Giants afraid they’d want Daniel Jones?”

The NFL Fandom was up in arms over the developments.
One user pointed out that Jones’ guaranteed cash is 1/3rd of what LJ is demanding, adding that “the owners have an understanding.”
Well let’s start with D Jones guaranteed money is 1/3 of what jackson wants and secondly the owners have an understanding

Another user said none of it makes sense and also had advice for Jalen Hurts.
none of this makes sense. pretty sure jalen hurts should wait for $95M a year.

This user pointed out the difference between both QBs.
One has an agent. One doesn’t

This user reflected on why the Lamar Jackson situation is complex.
The Lamar Jackson contract situation is complicated
The team signing him would not only have to give him a contract so large that the Ravens decide to let their MVP quarterback walk away
They have to give up two 1st round picks for the right to do it

This user saw the point RG3 is trying to make.
Different situations but I see your point.

Moreover, this user said the Giants should have gone for Lamar Jackson.
Giants should have signed Lamar instead. Those #1s would have been low

Another user pointed out the biggest ‘If.’
The biggest "if" would be is if he'll be able to play a full season. 😛 Either way, not sure how teams should be held responsible for other teams overpaying players.
— Christopher Leonard (@GorgetBand) March 8, 2023
This user is hopeful to see a solution between Jackson and the Ravens’ management.
Big Lamar fan but I don’t blame mgt only. There’s two sides of the coin! Ravens love Lamar but they are business organizations first! I hope they will work out something in the middle and keep Lamar here!
— Rajiv Lamichhane (@NavyRajiv) March 8, 2023
This user pointed the comparison missed one thing.
The comparison is missing a big line item…how much money each one is asking for.

The non-exclusive tag allows other teams to pursue Lamar. But the situation is turning the opposite.
Franchises are losing interest in Lamar Jackson
The NFL teams can pursue the hottest QB available. Lamar Jackson had a significant buzz, and they had an eye on the contractual situation. However, despite some franchises lacking starting QBs, the Panthers, Commanders, Dolphins, and others may not pursue the former MVP.

The reasons for the teams not going with LJ might look obvious. The franchises would not prefer giving up on their top draft picks since it would be an upscale expense. Additionally, the demand for a fully guaranteed deal is another hurdle. The lack of an agent makes it difficult too.

The disrespect over Lamar Jackson is not a fair thing. But the situation seems a difficult one. It is yet to witness how the case materializes.
