Odell Beckham Jr has landed a job after more than a year. He has landed a sweet deal with the Baltimore Ravens, but for some, it doesn’t make sense. Many fans have questioned the Ravens’ motive for giving OBJ a huge deal despite him not having played much in the last couple of years. It looks like Antonio Brown knows why the explosive wide receiver got such a sweet deal.

OBJ hasn’t played since winning the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams in February last year. He nursed his torn ACL injury all throughout the last season and turned down many approaches during that time. So why, according to AB, he got such a huge deal?

A Pittsburgh Steelers insider raised his doubts about the recently concluded deal between Odell Beckham Jr and the Ravens. He compared the wide receiver’s stats since 2020 with that of former WR Antonio Brown in the same period and questioned the logic of giving him such a huge contract.

“Since 2020, Odell Beckham has played in 21 games, has 67 catches for 856 yards with 8 TDs. Antonio Brown since 2020 has played in 15 games with 87 catches for 1,028 yards and 8 TDs. The Ravens gave Beckham $18 million for that?” Dale Lolley said in a tweet.

AB was quick to reply and gave three reasons for the Ravens’ decisions. One of the reasons he gave is that he thinks the Ravens want to turn their backup QB into a pro bowler.

According to Brown, the owners may be doing it due to jealousy. Against whom? That is a question for AB.

OBJ will join the Ravens for the upcoming season in a bid to make a strong comeback into the league. But he would hope that his friend Lamar Jackson stays with him, even if it is for just this year.

What does the OBJ contract look like?

Odell Beckham Jr. has joined the Ravens on a one-year deal. The contract he has got is worth up to $18 million, with a whopping $15 million of it coming in guaranteed money. The Ravens might serve OBJ well to make a statement comeback into the NFL and potentially get a long-term deal in Baltimore or even elsewhere.

But the question is, who will OBJ receive his passes from? Lamar Jackson has been the go-to QB for the Ravens in the last half-a-decade. Now it is uncertain if he will play again for the franchise as he has asked for a trade. The QB is currently a restricted free agent but hasn’t got any offer from another franchise as of now.
