Since his emergence with the Seattle Seahawks, Russell Wilson has remained a generous man with zeal. His charitable deeds with his non-profit foundation helped him become the 2020 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year. However, it is surrounding criticism after an investigative study caused a frenzy.

Amidst the criticism, Russell Wilson took to social media. The QB1’s words looked like he was seemingly responding to the investigative claims. Wilson mentioned, “This means the world to me; has meant the world to me and will forever mean the world to me. I just gotta say something. For our Why Not You foundation over the past eight years, we’ve been so freaking blessed to meet so many amazing people, so many amazing kids along the way and to be able to also partner with some amazing brands.”

DangeRuss’ response comes after USA Today’s Jason Wolf published an in-depth investigative report into the non-profit foundation. As per federal tax records, Why Not You spent $600,000 on philanthropic causes in 2020 and 2021. It amounts to 24.3 cents on the dollar, compared to $1.1 million spent on staff benefits and wages.

The new Broncos HC appeared on the Rich Eisen Show on Radio Row at the Super Bowl. Host Eisen inquired about the Jake Heaps situation. Payton said that he learned about it while attending to queries. Since he was unaware of it, he would avoid it. He said, “In fact, we’re not going to do that.”
