The AFC debut for Aaron Rodgers with the New York Jets is inching closer. After an 18-season career playing with the Green Bay Packers in the NFC, the 39-year-old is slowly but surely feeling the winds of change in his life. Even though Rodgers still has to play for the Jets, he has been making headlines in and around New York. And not only this, he is using this opportunity to get along with his new teammates as well.

Back in May, the 39-year-old 4X MVP QB had a very interesting time with CB Sauce Gardner during an NBA match. The internet went into a frenzy when details about Aaron Rodgers teaching the young CB who Hollywood actress Jessica Alba was, went viral. And now, Gardner has come forward to talk about how A-Rod’s arrival to the Big Apple has brought massive changes to the team.

With the new season of the league just 47 days away, teams are now busy going forward with their mandatory training camps. And even Aaron Rodgers is currently involved in training with his new team on the field. Earlier, the 39-year-old missed a few OTAs because of a minor calf injury. But despite this, his presence in training camp makes the 2022 Defensive Rookie Player of The Year hopeful of a good season ahead.

During a recent press conference after training camp practice, reporters questioned Gardner about how he’s changing things up for a better performance in 2023. Replying to this, the 22-year-old CB said that this year he’s taking “a whole different approach.” Gardner talked about being more “team oriented”, and also said that with the arrival of new talents and Aaron Rodgers, the team has “something special right now.” But the goal that they all share is the same, and that is to win a Super Bowl.

As the team grows comfortable playing around their new QB1, even Rodgers is taking a different approach in training camp.

Aaron Rodgers changing up his approach

After 18 seasons of training at Green Bay, the fresh faces at the Jets led to the QB bringing in a fresh approach to camp. While the others get used to playing in the new offensive system of Nathaniel Hackett, A-Rod already has decent experience under him. And he’s using this experience to help his new teammates on the field. The 4X MVP said, “Yeah, I would say earlier in my career, I was a little more easily angered. I feel like I’m a little less triggered as I’ve gotten older.” Despite gearing up for a Super Bowl contention season in Big Apple, not everyone has their vote of confidence placed on the QB. Recently, an anonymous AFC scout commented that A-Rod’s performance is declining than before and that it’s not right to rank him as a top-five QB anymore.
