It seems like the star is looking for other divisions in the league to settle down.

Deshaun Watson finally made it into the trade market after he was acquitted of all the allegations posed against him in the civil court. He was benched for the entire 2021 season, making him stay away from the field. As the star is back now, the QB-hungry clubs are trying hard to get him to their side.

Deshaun Watson rejects Cleveland Browns & Carolina Panthers

The news was first released by the NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The Cleveland Browns were informed that Watson was not ready to waive his no-trade clause for them, ending their long-standing quench to acquire him.

It is still unclear as to why Watson declined their offer. One of the most potential reasons can be salary cap negotiations between them, which couldn’t reach a viable conclusion. The team officials met him earlier this week but returned bare hands with disappointment.

The Browns will now have to convince Baker Mayfield, who requested for a trade after learning that the Browns were eying Watson over him. Otherwise, the Browns will have to wait until Jimmy Garoppolo makes a deal with them.

Even the Carolina Panthers were in the race to acquire the three-time Pro-Bowl quarterback. But destiny made them look for other options now. Watson rejected their request as well, narrowing his chances to get a new home apart from the Saints and Atlanta Falcons.
