Russell Wilson has been less than impressive this season. The quarterback’s move from the Seahawks to the Denver Broncos was highly anticipated. Yet, the Broncos have been nothing but underwhelming this season. While there have been glimpses of the quarterback’s offensive genius, the Broncos’ current 2-5 standing does not look good.

Wilson is by now accustomed to being trolled online. The quarterback is known for his overly optimistic posts and tweets that sometimes make you cringe. Fans never disappoint with their hilarious takes on Wilson’s social media game as well as his performance on the field.

Russell Wilson gets called out

Sports journalist and show host Stephen A. Smith did not hold his punches back when he addressed Russell Wilson’s performance. In a conversation with former wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson, he said, “Here’s the deal okay when you look at Russell Wilson. that is an atrocity that has taken place in the mile-high city, I said it yesterday Keyshawn I’m going to say it again, [the] only damn thing that’s good about Russell Wilson being in Denver is that Ciara [is] there with him.”

Stephen A’s brutal take did not include a tirade on Wilson’s performance. The commentator also pulled in Ciara, Wilson’s wife while taking a shot at the quarterback.

Stephen A. seemed to have a lot to say about the quarterback’s performance. Later, stating that he liked Wilson, he offered the quarterback some tough love by saying, “Football-wise this brother ain’t getting it done. I like Russell Wilson, but he ain’t getting it done. He looks horrible.”

Wilson’s injury status

Russell Wilson sat out the Broncos‘ last game against the Jets due to a hamstring injury. Although Russell Wilson was confident of his recovery, it seems like the quarterback will need some time to get back in shape.

Head coach Nathaniel Hackett said that the team will play it by ear. Denver will head to London to face the Jacksonville Jaguars next. The Broncos nation will hope for their quarterback’s swift recovery and better performances in the games to come.
