Over their careers, athletes come across plenty of trash-talking. Sometimes from their rivals or even fans of the opposing teams. Similarly, Aaron Rodgers recalls a hilarious yet brutal story from the greatest trash-talkers of Philadelphia. One time when the Packers were playing against the Eagles’, a fan threw a battery at his helmet. This incident was unprecedented for the 37-year-old in his entire career.
The Packers’ QB believes that Philadelphia fans are the funnies trash-talkers among all the fan bases. Moreover, the story of batteries being hurled by Philly fans is not something new in the NFL. In 1999, J.D. Drew was at the receiving end of this brutal trick at the hands of Philly fans. It happened because Drew refused to sign and come to Philly, and it outraged the fans.

In the interview with Pat McAfee, the QB told him, “I think the rowdiest, the biggest and the funniest trash talkers are in Philly. We had a stretch where we played them a few times in Philly, and one time I got hit with a battery on the helmet.”
Further, the 4x NFL MVP hopes he does not get the same treatment from the Eagles‘ fans again. Although he likes the trash talks, getting hit with batteries isn’t something that amuses him or anyone else. But that’s your price when playing against a team with a ruthless and die-hard fan base.
What record is Aaron Rodgers looking forward to breaking in the upcoming season?
In 2020 and 2021, Rodgers won the NFL MVP award consecutively. The QBs terrific run in the NFL makes him just one season MVP award away from equalling the record of the NFL legend Brett Favre. The Packers‘ QB is working hard for the 2022 season.
