Old Man Rodgers made another one of his regular appearances on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’. He spoke about many different topics, including the different challenges he’s had to overcome with his Green Bay Packers. Furthermore, Aaron Rodgers also spoke about a more important issue that has recently affected the whole NFL community.

One of the NFL’s own, Damar Hamlin, of the Buffalo Bills had collapsed mid-game and had to be rushed to the hospital. He had allegedly suffered a cardiac arrest. Rodgers spoke about the scary incident and explained his thoughts and feelings on the show.

A concerned Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers was very clearly concerned with the way the situation progressed on-field for the Buffalo Bills player. He took to the Pat McAfee show to speak about the scariness of the incident and how it might have impacted the Packers and himself personally. While on the show, A-Rod mentioned the effects of the incident on him and how he was dealing with it. Rodgers spoke about how the NFL as a whole is ultimately a family and that everyone at some level, cares for others.

He said, “this is too big of an event for us to just gloss it over and just like not listen, let’s get back to work, you know, and we’re not even affected by we weren’t playing the game and that wasn’t our team. But that’s, that’s still one of our brothers, you know, is down and fighting for his life”. Rodgers did not mince his words as he mentioned the harsh reality of what Hamlin is going through right now. Furthermore, he also spoke about the true meaning of the sport which is deeper than just entertainment for the audience.

An issue beyond the pettiness of the league

While A-Rod expressed his concern for Hamlin’s condition, he also mentioned the true reality of the league. He cited the truer, deeper issue at hand that supersedes rivalries and distasteful hatred in the league. The quarterback spoke about the true risk and cost of playing in the NFL. He mentioned the personal risk that exists for the players and how it should be given a deeper look.

Rodgers spoke from his heart when he mentioned the deeper risk in the NFL that goes beyond rivalries and championships. He expressed his concern for the safety and health of NFL players and how such a disturbing incident has affected them all. Furthermore, it only remains to be seen how the situation will be from now, considering the painful realization of the risks that exist for Rodgers and his players.
