It seems that Travis Kelce has some serious love for controversies. Once again, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end finds himself entangled in controversy. Previously, he made headlines for spiking the Lombardi trophy and engaging in controversial discussions about underpayment. This time, he has become embroiled in yet another controversial situation despite not physically interacting with the product he recently endorsed.
In a recent Coors Light commercial, his teammate Patrick Mahomes stole the show with a humorous portrayal alongside a bear, skillfully navigating the NFL’s regulations on athlete endorsements of alcoholic beverages. However, Kelce’s entry into a new promotion has received a lukewarm response at best.
The whole controversy is linked to a beer ad

The beverage company worth $113 billion, Anheuser-Busch, is the parent company of Bud Light. It recently featured Travis Kelce in their ad, which sparked controversy. In the video, Kelce is seen alongside others, all casually holding beer cans. However, it is notable that Kelce himself is not depicted holding or drinking beer. The brand was already facing serious controversies, and Kelce’s presence added fuel to the fire. Earlier, Bud Light sent beers to influencer Dylan Mulvaney as part of a paid sponsorship deal.
Mulvaney posted a video, dressed up as Holly Golightly from Breakfast, celebrating March Madness and her transition, using the beers she received. However, this angered some people, not because of the association with Holly Golightly, but because Mulvaney is transgender. With transgender issues taking center stage in America’s culture war, Travis Kelce found himself caught up in the controversy in a 15-second ad video. And this fueled fans’ anger, who demanded his ‘boycott.’
Are fans supporting Kelce amid his controversy?
While Travis Kelce’s recent advertisement has drawn criticism, some fans have stood by him during this challenging time. One user applauded Kelce, saying, “Way to go Travis! Didn’t even bother touching the Bud Light can.”
Another found humor in the situation, stating, “It’s hilarious how Travis didn’t even touch or drink their product, yet they still paid him 😂”
One person highlighted Kelce’s reputation for being socially conscious, stating, “Kelce has always been uber woke. This just cemented it.”
Another user found irony in Kelce’s involvement, sarcastically commenting, “Funny how Travis said he’s underpaid then does a bud lite commercial hahahahaha get that bag.”

However, not all comments were supportive. One individual expressed anger towards the brand, urging, “Keep boycotting- CEO doesn’t understand the consequences. Board of directors need to call for accountability. The company doesn’t care about the employees or consumers.”
Another person found amusement in the fact and said, “Based on NFL policy, he can’t touch or drink alcoholic beverages. Still is funny that no one took a sip.”
