Fans have been hoping for an NFL comeback by Tom Brady and Colin Kaepernick for the past few months. Brady retired for the second time earlier this year. But his decision to make a U-turn last year after announcing his retirement does not convince fans of him hanging up his cleats permanently. On the other hand, Colin Kaepernick last played as a QB for the San Francisco 49ers in 2016. He made headlines by kneeling during the national anthem before a game to protest against police brutality and discrimination. And ever since, no team has come forward to sign him for years.
But now, fans may be in for a disappointment regarding Brady and Kap’s comebacks. And the reason these two QBs playing in the league once again look bleak is because of a hurdle worth $143 billion.

Initially, Tom Brady was rumored to be coming out of retirement to play for the Miami Dolphins. This was because of the team’s uncertainty with their QB Tua Tagovailoa, who suffered multiple concussions last season. After this, the 7X SB announced that he is looking to become a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. And with the situation surrounding Jimmy Garoppolo’s physical fitness, rumors spread like wildfire that the 45-year-old might return as a player-owner for the team. Meanwhile, Colin Kaepernick has been open about making an NFL return. He continues to maintain a disciplined training regime. And most recently, he impressed current NFL wide receivers and running backs during a workout at the Nike Facility. But the doors for a comeback in the 2023 season might finally be closed for these two QBs.
According to an article by The Mirror, a source from the NFL told the Daily Mail that teams won’t be looking to sign Brady or Kap for the upcoming season. The source stated that even if the QBs of these teams get injured, they already have “backups”. And even if they need to look for players, the “GMS will look elsewhere.” The source also talked about how Tom Brady said he is “retired for good”, whereas Kaepernick is not going to be signed by any team no matter how much he practices with current NFL players.

Brady and Kaepernick to be back on the gridiron
The New England Patriots are welcoming back Tom Brady to honor him for his 20 years of service. According to Robert Kraft, they will honor Brady at the Gillette Stadium during the team’s first home game in the 2023 season. This left fans excited, as they are looking forward to welcoming the 7X SB champion back to the place where his glorious NFL journey began. On the other hand, Colin Kaepernick is making a virtual comeback to the gridiron in October. The 35-year-old paired up with Saber Interactive for Wild Card Football, an arcade-style game. The game will also have real-life NFL players such as Jalen Ramsey, who was in the trailer of the game.
In the end, their fanbase does have something to look forward to in the coming days ahead. While the return of Brady and Kaepernick to the league is uncertain, their return to the gridiron for different reasons will definitely have fans waiting in anticipation.
