While the game ended 21-16 in favor of the Browns, commentators Mike and Cris, managed to speak to new QB Rodgers a few things on his life at the Jets camp.

The sideline interview of Rodgers started with his departure from the Packers camp to the Jets. Rodgers referred to the period as a dark phase in his career. He later admitted that his journey till now at the Jets camp has exceeded his expectations and he is enjoying his time.

Rodgers was welcomed into the Jets camp with open arms after his transfer became official on April 26, 2023. Since then, he has been bestowed upon the role of a coach, a mentor for the young lads at Jets, something that he has embraced unanimously.

Mike said, “The end of the season and we went to the darkest retreat. What did you figure out, that when you were in there, you decided you want to come back for more?”

Aaron answered, “Well, I still have love for the game never went away. Just thinking about what I wanted life to be like in 2023. And this has definitely exceeded all my expectations and all the thoughts I had in that dark place for a few days.”

He reflected on his role as a mentor to young players and the positive impact it has on him. He even went to accept a $35 million pay cut in order to afford young talent for the future of the team. He credited the influence of legendary quarterback Brett Favre for this and believes it is his duty to prepare the next generation. Rodgers also talks about the joy of working with Nathaniel Hackett, the team’s talented football coach, and the thrilling prospect of creating an impressive offense. Now that he is out of his dark phase, he is back to attending preseason games and OTAs. But what is the dark phase he was referring to?
