Aaron Rodgers is en route to make his New York Jets debut. The QB has to be more than prepared as he has joined the division with some of the top QB names in the league. As per the schedule, the upcoming Week 1 Monday Night Football will pit the New York Jets against Buffalo Bills. But the most anticipated face-off would be at the quarterback position. And it seems that things are heated up as Josh Allen prepares a welcome party for Rodgers to the AFC East.

Both Rodgers and Allen have been titans of the game, establishing their greatness as elite quarterbacks. But is Allen concerned with Rodgers coming to his conference? Or is it just another opportunity for him to prove his mettle once again? Questions like these have been lingering ever since the NFL announced its schedule, and the answers will be worth looking forward to.

The Rodgers-Allen matchup

In their past showdowns, Aaron Rodgers has always come up on top, boasting a 3-0 record against Josh Allen. But all of that is supposed to change, or at least Josh Allen hopes so. During his recent appearance on the show, ‘Kyle Brandt’s Basement’, Allen shared his views on the upcoming rivalry and even outlined the simplicity of football.

He’s definitely a bad man. But at the end of the day, it’s still football, The goal doesn’t change — it doesn’t matter who’s back there throwing passes for the opposing team. We’re trying to go out there and score more points than them,” expressed Allen with a sly grin on his face.

The host of the show, Kyle Brandt, wasn’t however completely convinced by Allen’s seemingly relaxed attitude. To which Allen stated, “At the end of the day, you want to win your last game. That’s all that matters. And It doesn’t matter if you win the division.

The face-off against Aaron Rodgers and the Jets would be a tool for Allen to measure where his team stands, and vice versa. Despite the two elite quarterbacks showering each other with respect, there is still an underlying tone of rivalry, and that is exactly what the NFL is about.

The best QB in the division?

According to a recent QB tier list by Ralph Ventre of Sports Illustrated, Allen stands atop while Rodgers takes second place. Despite these rankings, Allen is all too aware of the threat that Aaron Rodgers poses. Allen even alluded to Rodgers’ flawless throwing mechanic, something he has been trying to mimic for years.

While the nailbiting showdown between Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets could potentially be a wake-up call for Allen, there are other notable talents lingering around the division.
