While speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, Crosby states, “I was elated when I found out about the news. You know Chandler is like a big brother to me. It’s kinda crazy, um, I had no idea that any of this was in the works. And once I found out, I freaking lost my mind because Chandler is you know one of those guys that I can call and talk to about football and anything.”
The visible excitement from Crosby after he became aware of the trade seems like a great indicator of how much regard he holds for Jones and his NFL career. He also states that he did reach out to Jones and was full of excitement for the upcoming season. The Raiders franchise has made strides recently in a highly competitive AFC West Division. While Jones is a significant addition to the Raiders franchise, they have also added an elite offensive weapon in new wide receiver Davante Adams from the Green Bay Packers. Adams was amazing in 2021 and will be having a reunion with fellow Fresno State QB Derek Carr. It seems the Raiders did elevate their roster with the recent trades for both Chandler Jones and Davante Adams.
The recruitment of Jones brings his elite tackling ability while leading the league with 107.5 career sacks since 2012. He will be playing in the dangerous AFC West Division and hoping to make an impact for the Raiders.
The franchise will be hoping for a budding partnership between Jones and Crosby that will propel them to great things.
