Late in June, Mayfield received the news of his trade while on a trip celebrating his wedding anniversary. Content with the feeling of satisfaction and relief, the former Browns’ QB rushed back to get his medical and physical tests done.

Mayfield’s first professional coach, Freddie Kitchens, feels the QB will take the Panthers up. In the games played by Baker for the Browns, he performed exceptionally well. But injuries kept him out in 2020, and he had a moderate season in 2021. Additionally, as the Browns signed Deshaun Watson as their starting QB, Mayfield expressed his disappointment and wanted to leave.

Amidst all the fiasco, one person is rooting for Baker Mayfield to succeed. This QB’s long-time friend and workout buddy once called Mayfield the heir to Tom Brady’s throne. However, the fortunes haven’t played the same way for Mayfield, but the actor continues to support his friend.

Mark Wahlberg expresses his strong support for his friend, Baker Mayfield

In a recent video, the Transformers star and celebrated Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg showed his strong support for his workout buddy. In a clip posted by TMZ, Wahlberg was asked if he still thinks Baker Mayfield is the heir to Tom Brady. While responding to it, the actor said, “It has a lot to do with the coach and the teams. But, you know, he’s got a big, bright future ahead of him.”

He is still a big fan of Baker Mayfield, and it wouldn’t hurt him to see the QB with the Patriots one day. In addition, Wahlberg said that it was a rebuilding time for the New England Patriots.
