Deion Sanders has had a legendary NFL career, winning two Super Bowl trophies both at the left and the right cornerback position. Sanders’s versatility on the field has always helped him stand out on the field, leading the NFL in punt returns in 1998 while leading the NFC in kickoffs in 1992. Needless to say, honors followed Deion Sanders as he was named the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 1990s as well as the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year.
Now years removed from his greatness, Deion Sanders is busy nurturing his son Shedeur Sanders as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes of the Pac-12 Conference. As many expected, Shedeur is often compared to his legendary father, and the young phenom knows exactly what separates them. During a recent appearance, Shedeur Sanders spelled out the key difference between him and his father, and his response made complete sense.
Deion Sanders is old school

Shedeur Sanders’ has a ton of high hopes resting on his shoulders, mainly due to the name he shares. Sanders would be constantly compared to his father and the young man feels he might even have the edge over Deion Sanders. During an appearance on Paper Route, Sanders shared his views on the differentiating factors from his father.
“That’s the thing though. Like he old-school man. To me, it’s real militant man everything I do you know is legendary, so it’s the difference though.” said Shedeur Sanders with a firm belief.
Shedeur Sanders continued that he grew up in different times and that has helped forged him into a different player, “Like it’s a different time, like on what I do and what he do, that’s why these conversations be funny, because it’s like I know what I am doing you know what I’m saying like on a majority of things I do and like the sense that he’s telling me you know”
Shedeur believes that he is a better version of his father, “I heard him before you know just talk and stuff like that so. I’m more well-rounded, I’m a well-rounded better version”
Having a father as successful as Deion Sanders, come with its unique challenges. However, Shedeur Sanders seems to be handling these challenges to perfection with a big smile on his face.

Sanders shocked the college world
Shedeur Sanders made his college debut under the tutelage of his father Deion at Jackson State. But as Deion moved on to a newer challenge, his son followed him. Shedeur asked for a transfer from Colorado state to continue being under his father’s umbrella. This isn’t the first time that Shedeur has prioritized his father, as he originally committed to Florida Atlantic University, later flipping to represent Jackson State playing for his father.
While making his name well known in the college circuit, Shedeur Sanders has also been offered some mouth-watering partnerships. The 21-year-old has already signed Names, Images, and Likeness (NIL) deals with Gatorade, Mercedes-Benz, Beats by Dre, and the Brady Brand.

Sanders has the entire footballing world watching him from the corner of their eye and is expected to make huge waves in the 2024 NFL draft.
