The Green Bay Packers have parted ways with their once-in-a-generation quarterback. With a heavy heart, the Packers nation has bid adieu to Aaron Rodgers. With him leaving, there is an obvious vacancy in the talent for QB1 for the Packers. This is a paradigm shift for the Packers, considering that Rodgers has been with them since 2005.

However, the Packers are handing the reins to their youngster, Jordan Love. There has been some speculation on how well he’ll perform. In fact, some of the speculations came from Rodgers’ ex-teammate. Rodgers’ ex-teammate and an important host of the Pat McAfee show took to YouTube to talk about the kind of job Love has ahead of him. Furthermore, he even compared the situation to another quarterback that has recently taken over for one of the greats.

Co-host of the show, AJ Hawk spoke about the kind of task Love has ahead of him with the Packers. He mentioned how Love is in a similar position that Mac Jones is in right now with the Patriots. After Tom Brady left the Patriots, the responsibility of being the quarterback fell on Jones’ shoulders. Hawk compared Jones and Love’s situation.

He mentioned how Jones had been placed in an impossible situation and that he’s made the best of it. Hawk compared the two and said, “It’s not like Mac Jones you thought oh that’s an impossible gig to step in after Tom Brady but Mac’s first year was the best year he’s had like that was well that’s when he had the most success.”

Is Jordan Love the Packers’ new hope?

With Rodgers gone, Love is now the new quarterback hopes for the Packers. Love came into the Packers organization just 2 years ago and he has shown signs of filling in A-Rod’s shoes. While he has played only 10 games in his two years, his stats have been very promising. In the past two years, Love has had a touchdown average of 3.6 touchdowns per game. In his last season, he had no interceptions and no fumbles either.

While Love has performed well in the past, he has never had the responsibility of an entire organization resting on him. It only remains to be seen how well he’ll step up to the challenge in the upcoming season.
