NFL and Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin has just shared a tale from his youth. The story involves freshmen, seniors, lots of food, a particular steak, and a very feisty brawl.

Michael Irvin is a known name in the gridiron world. The wide receiver is one of the most celebrated Dallas Cowboys legends. The league inducted him into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004. Talking to Warren Sapp in an interview on the Vlad Tv YouTube channel. The retired wide receiver recalled the first day of his college training. He explained how he lost his temper at a senior offensive guard. “Oh it was over, I took that trey threw it at his head caught him in the jaw went on stomping him.” said Irvin.
What was the fight about?
After returning from the training. The food was prepared for the team and set up across the table. It admittedly enamored young Michael Irvin, who came across such a meal for the first time. On that day the seniors on the team were also messing around with the freshmen. Telling them to wait and sit down, claiming the food for themselves first. A curious Irvin couldn’t wait and sneakily found his way to the counter. Eying a very specific steak, he asked for it. However, a senior offensive guard intervened. Telling the freshman to get his butt back. After a push on Irvin, the senior turned around and asked for the same steak that he wanted.
This was when the future Cowboys wideout actually lost it. As Irvin explaind, he took a tray, threw it at the senior’s head, and punched him in the jaw. He even went on to stomp him. Other members of the squad had to pull Irvin off the player and sent him to the coach.
How things turned out for Michael Irvin after the fight
Fighting one’s own teammate is not an action that paints a good picture. But the coach at the time told Michael who had been going through a lot after losing his father. That the coach was there for the youngster, but moving forward, there could not be any more of this.
After a cynical start to his college days. Irvin turned it around and became a starter for the University of Miami. With over 2423 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns. He became a part of his college Hall of Fame in 2000 as well.

After 3 seasons in college, the wide receiver was eligible for the NFL draft in 1988. He was picked 11th overall in the first round of the draft by the Dallas Cowboys. And the rest is history.
