On February 1st, 7-time Super Bowl champion, Tom Brady shocked the NFL world, as he announced his retirement for the second time in his career. Notably, the former Patriots and Buccaneers quarterback announced his retirement from the NFL last year on the same exact day, which lasted only 40 days. However, this time, Brady assured his fans on social media that he was retiring for good. After his retirement announcement, many fans and sporting personalities posted some emotional tribute to the legendary quarterback, including former New York Giants WR, Odell Beckham Jr.

Earlier, Beckham Jr. posted a video on his official Instagram account, where he showcased the similarities between him and Brady. However, a few fans tried to make fun of both him and Brady, which forced OBJ to make some savage comments.

In the caption of his Instagram post, OBJ used a goat emoji and wrote, “Thank you for showing me how much this game meant to you, I watched every move. The passion you played wit and desire to win were unmatched. Love you brother. Enjoy the fruits of your labor.“

Then, a few fans started mocking OBJ, saying that they have not seen this sort of passion since his Giants days. In reply, the Super Bowl-winning WR said, “Hard when ur a receiver and every camera is on u… and they told u u had to “act better!” And still only get 4 targets a game…. Yea I’m sure u would enjoy that too. I’m sure u would enjoy to put ur entire life into a game and be shorted time after time.“

It is worth noting that Brady and Beckham Jr. never played together in the NFL. Previously, OBJ expressed his desire to play with Brady, when the QB was playing with Bucs in 2021, which unfortunately did not happen in the end.

It seems like OBJ’s desire to play with Brady is gone forever after the latter’s retirement. However, the WR still has a long way to go in the NFL, as he is still searching for a franchise. In the Brady tribute video, one fan tried to fuel the rumor about his return to the Giants, as the video only showed OBJ in the Giants’ uniform. However, the 30-year-old WR assured this particular fan that it was just an old video.

Despite his answer, many Giants fans are urging him to return to New York, after their disappointing run in this year’s playoffs. At the moment, the Cowboys are the favorite to sign him for the 2023 season, as he will unlikely play in the current season.
