Free agent Odell Beckham Jr. is arguably the most sought-after wide receiver in the NFL right now. While he is currently exploring all his options, he received pretty massive news regarding his financial situation.

As per earlier reports, OBJ has converted his 2021 salary into cryptocurrency, i.e. Bitcoin. Recently, there has been a massive collapse in the crypto market, which is affecting the financial world massively. According to reports, Beckham Jr. is still holding onto his 2021 Bitcoin and it would cost him around $200k to cash it.

Odell Beckham Jr. is on the verge of losing a lot of money

Notably, OBJ signed with the Rams last season in November for a $750,000 deal. After signing with them, he decided to convert all his salary into bitcoin. At that time, the value of one Bitcoin was around $60k.

After the recent collapse in the cryptocurrency market, the current value of one Bitcoin is around $16k. If OBJ were to cash in his Bitcoin now, he has to pay an additional $187,250 to recover the amount.

Notably, the current Net Worth of OBJ is around $40 million. As per the current scenario, he could lose a lot of money if he decides to cash in his Bitcoin, which could also impact his Net Worth. However, it seems like he should hold on to his Bitcoin for now and try to cash in later if the market of the cryptocurrency improves.

Meanwhile, the former Rams wide receiver is currently looking for a new team in the current NFL season. This year in the Super Bowl, he suffered an ACL injury, which forced him out of the field for several months. Currently, he is on his way to becoming fully fit.
