As early as last week, it looked like Odell Beckham Jr.’s plan to return to NFL this season was going to be shortlived. The superstar wide receiver was moments away from signing his contract with the Dallas Cowboys. Cowboys’ owner, Jerry Jones, had also been very vocal about his pursuit of the beast wide receiver. However, on further evaluation, medical experts said OBJ wasn’t going to be available when they originally had expected him to be available. This revelation not only broke OBJ’s heart but was a big blow to Jerry Jones as well.
Odell Beckham Jr. has been a free agent since rupturing his ACL in the Superbowl final with the Rams. His fans have passionately followed his much-awaited return to the league. While last week might have been full of heartbreak, this week has been a new ray of hope for OBJ as medical reports look better all over again.

With news that showed otherwise post OBJ’s big trip to Dallas, Jerry Jones dropped a bomb on Thursday night as he revived his precious pursuit of the star wide receiver. “There’s a good chance he will, with the complete goal of getting ready for a playoff game or two, and then I’ll look to the future. But most of it being about now,” said Jones.
As the Cowboys end their regular season on a positive note, Jones would be making a big statement by roping in OBJ for the playoffs. “Could this be possible to have a great player like that get in two or three playoff games and make some significant plays? I think very much so. That’s not an exaggerated thought at all,” continued Jones as he made a Deion Sanders reference for Odell Beckham Jr. Deion Sanders played a similar role to what OBJ would, in his Superbowl-winning year with the Cowboys.

The Cowboys have been at serious work in the last few days. They seem to be on an agenda of strengthening their roster at all costs. The Dallas team has already signed a wide receiver given OBJ was not going to fit the plans earlier. They brought in veteran free agent, T Y Hilton. Along with this experienced player, they also signed Anthony Rush. Lamar Jackson‘s cousin and former Cardinal Treyvon Mullen also found a spot for himself on this Dallas roster.
While all of them won’t get to see the field, it definitely is a statement by Jerry Jones as the Cowboys make a big push toward the end of the regular season. With OBJ in the mix, the Cowboys will definitely be a serious threat to other teams.
