Odell Beckham Jr. has been a topic of discussion for months. It’s not because he survived the injury but because of the contract he recently signed with Baltimore Ravens. Beckham was away from the NFL realm as he was recovering from a torn ACL, which he got in the second quarter of Super Bowl 56 when he was playing for the Los Angeles Rams. The last season was his last with the Rams. His alliance with the Baltimore Ravens is a game-changer.
The Ravens’ contract sparked endless gossip in the NFL. On top of that, some talented running backs are still getting underpaid even after performing incredibly well in the game. Recently, a well-known television sportscaster spilled his views on this deep-heated topic.

The $15 million contract controversy took an interesting turn when radio host and media personality Rich Eisen pointed out contract-related issues between the 30-year-old WR and Giants Saquon Barkley. According to him, both of them should be paid off in terms of their talents.
“When Odell takes the field, it will have been, um, let’s figure this out now, carry the one 20 months since he played football games. The Ravens gave him 15 million bucks crazy, and the Giants are like, Yeah, do we give Saquon Barkley $15 million a year? That’s what they’re thinking right now,” Eisen said.
He also pointed out the pivotal role these two legends play in the game and should get paid equally.”That’s what makes no sense because, to me, Barclay to the Giants is just as important because you know how much I love Odell Beckham Jr. It’s just as important that he’s there, paid, and happy for the success of the Giants as it is for Odell Beckham in the Raven.”
Many people in the league have shown their disagreement with Beckham’s $15 million contract. On top of that, he will get an extra $3 million if he can attain certain benchmarks. It caught the attention of many, including Deandre Hopkins. The pro bowler was likely to get traded to the Cardinals, but the $15 million contract turned out to be a lucky charm for Beckham, and he joined forces with the Ravens.
Some analysts also speculated that the extra incentives might not be aligned with Beckham’s current performance.

But do you know running backs are still getting underpaid in terms of other roles in the league?
Running back controversy
Despite performing incredibly well, running backs are still underpaid by NFL franchises. They have a very short career span, but their earnings are relatively low in comparison to what they have earned in the past. Saquon Barkley, who is one of the most talented running backs for the Giants, still gets underpaid in terms of his worth. His base salary still stands at $10.1 million.
