There were a lot of expectations from the QB class of the 2021 NFL draft. While Trevor Lawrence was a clear first pick, coming out of college, Zach Wilson also managed to excite many coaches and scouts with his elite throwing talent. With the 2nd overall pick, the New York Jets got the passer from BYU. Unfortunately, looking back at the decision, there might be a few regretful faces in the camp.

Head coach Robert Saleh has created a promising team with the Jets. One of their biggest weaknesses has been the QB position. Especially after an awful outing in his first season, Wilson has failed to show improvements with the team. The QB was also replaced by a former XFL player, Chris Streveler, against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Following the bench treatment, fans had started to countdown the days of Wilson as an NFL starter and a Jets Player. However, it looks like the Jets aren’t quite done with him yet. According to latest reports, GM, Joe Douglas will not put the player on the trading block this season. The team thinks that their hardworking and team-friendly pick will get better in the future.

What the fans think about the ‘Zach Wilson’ plan

Whatever the headlines may read, the NFL world isn’t quite buying into the narrative. With the season, the 23-year-old is having, many believe that the news really is just what they expected.
