Head coach Robert Saleh has created a promising team with the Jets. One of their biggest weaknesses has been the QB position. Especially after an awful outing in his first season, Wilson has failed to show improvements with the team. The QB was also replaced by a former XFL player, Chris Streveler, against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Following the bench treatment, fans had started to countdown the days of Wilson as an NFL starter and a Jets Player. However, it looks like the Jets aren’t quite done with him yet. According to latest reports, GM, Joe Douglas will not put the player on the trading block this season. The team thinks that their hardworking and team-friendly pick will get better in the future.
What the fans think about the ‘Zach Wilson’ plan
Whatever the headlines may read, the NFL world isn’t quite buying into the narrative. With the season, the 23-year-old is having, many believe that the news really is just what they expected.
I mean duh? Flacco and white are gone, and unless white plays amazing and they finish 2-0 to make the playoffs, they’ll be bringing in Carr or Jimmy G. Idk about a backup, but sitting Wilson was always the obvious plan. Low value, cheap deal. Still just 23.

While this fan has another theory.
Cause they won’t get the price what they hope compare to 2nd overall pick! They’ll try next season and if it doesn’t work then they’ll just cut him.

While this guy believes that this is just a strategy to generate a little value for the player.
In other words, the Jets at least want to pretend they want to keep this excellent teammate with a great, hard working attitude in order to have some negotiating ability in trading him.

Furthermore, there are many more who think that the Jets are currently in a tough situation and are just trying to save face with the player.
Can’t shop a player when there’s no market for him. With that contract the Jets would have to give up a pick just to get someone to take Wilson off their hands.
