This is the second time in a row that Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is getting his contract restructured. Well, this time, it’s not for him but for the franchise to make enough legroom ahead of the trade deadline.

On November 1, the teams need to finalize and execute trades from the market, beyond which it is not possible. Just a few months ago, The franchise gave Kelce a restructured contract adding more money from the tail to this year’s base salary.

The franchise has converted Kelce’s base salary to a signing bonus. “The Chiefs have restructured the contract of All Pro TE Travis Kelce, converting base salary into a signing bonus to clear $3.455M in cap space, per source.” Yates wrote on Twitter. While all these developments are on the table, fans instantly started speculating that the Chiefs were trying to sign Odell Beckham Jr into the team.
