O.J. Simpson has consistently expressed his love for Aaron Rodgers! Ahead of the season, the former RB showered praise on A-Rod for taking the whopping $35 million pay cut, which paved the way for the Jets to keep expanding their roster. Simpson even fondly recalled the first time he witnessed Rodgers’ talent on the gridiron during his college days, and expressed his fervent desire to see him as a 49ers quarterback.
However, in a recent episode of Simpson’s NFL fan chat, he didn’t hold back when discussing the Jets. The 4x MVP’s team has met with serious speculations after their disastrous loss against the Cowboys, and the former RB had some tough love for the coach.

Captioned “I Could Coach Aaron Rodgers,” the 1973 MVP shared a compelling 4-minute video on Twitter. He began by addressing Saquon Barkley’s injury, urging him to take some time off the field. Notably, he sided with Barkley during his contract dispute with the Giants before the season kicked off. After expressing gratitude to the relentless running back for his impressive 21-point performance in the last game, Simpson delved into the recent Jets vs. Cowboys showdown.

Simpson wasted no time in calling out Jets’ offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett for the team’s missteps against the formidable Cowboys defense. With a touch of humor, he remarked, “I don’t know what his background is. But, I know his reputation is he coached Rodgers in Green Bay,” followed by, “I could coach Rodgers. My daughter could coach Rodgers.” Simpson clarified his take and added, that Rodgers, being an exceptional player, didn’t ever need an extraordinary coach.
Furthermore, Simpson criticized Hackett’s decisions regarding Rodgers’ backup, Zach Wilson, and voiced his disagreement with the choices made during the game.
Cowboys’ defensive action against the Jets!
In the season opener, despite A-Rod being sidelined, the Jets’ backup and the team performed exceptionally well, taking apart the opposing defense, piece by piece. However, in their week 2 matchup, the team struggled to secure a lead for even a single quarter. The Jets managed to score just 10 points, courtesy of a 68-yard touchdown pass from Zach to Garrett Wilson and a 34-yard field goal by Austin Seibert.

Unfortunately, Wilson’s passes were intercepted three times, giving America’s Team a significant advantage. Brandon Aubrey shone with an impressive five field goals, four of which were scored in the second half. Dak Prescott also added two touchdown passes to his tally.
Simpson believes that the only way the Jets could have turned the game around was by taking on the opponent’s defense head-on, and he feels that Hackett’s decisions during this game contributed to the opponent’s lead.
