After winning the Super Bowl, Kansas City Chiefs players have been having some well-deserved fun. While players are celebrating in their own ways, Travis Kelce has unleashed a party animal of his own league. The tight end first partied with his quarterback and even performed with ‘The Chainsmokers’. After that, he went on to gain popularity as an SNL host. Furthermore, he also starred in a skit before SNL wherein he parodied his beloved figure, Indiana Jones. With his monologue, he showcased his truly hilarious sense of humor. However, this is not the first time he has had a penchant for jokes.
While hosting the ‘New Heights’ podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce, the tight end recounted different memories of the past. The prominent one remained his attempt at humor as early as 7th grade. He recounted how he tried to stretch his funny bone back in middle school and proceeded to bomb the effort.

While there have been numerous NFL players with some real on-screen brilliance, Kelce was trying to make people laugh even before he was on an NFL field. Furthermore, he achieved some brilliant success as his debut for SNL went splendidly. Post his success, Kelce spoke about the different ways in which he tried his hands at humor even as a young child. He spoke about it during the New Heights podcast with his brother. The tight end recounted the interesting method through which he tried to make a joke in his 7th-grade English class.
He explained that when they were required to read a particular piece out loud, he would switch up quotes with something he made up. One of the best gags he did was when he switched the lines in Hamlet. He revealed the lines and said, “I freelanced the quote it was something like blah blah blah blah blah blah, and then Hamlet said Devante should stop eating cheeseburgers with his fat a*s.” The brothers went on to have a huge laugh about the joke Kelce tried to pull as a 7th grader.
Interestingly, the joke he tried to make in middle school did not earn him a lot of laughter. However, his SNL performance went differently. While on the podcast, the tight also mentioned the interesting advice he received from other athletes who have hosted host SNL.
