The Dallas Cowboys lost against the San Francisco 49ers for the second time in the playoff loss. It had been a season full of interceptions and injuries for Dak Prescott. There had been talks that the Cowboys may trade and replace its starting QB and bring new talent to the team. And it looks like Jerry Jones and the franchise set their eyes on young talent.
C.J. Stroud is the quarterback from Ohio State and is a potential first draft pick. And according to Mike Fisher of SI.com, America’s Team is interested in him. Even though the Cowboys have a franchise quarterback, they are keeping their option open. This is not the first time that the team expressed interest in a premier prospect. But it is surely the one that left fans with conflicted views which they expressed on Twitter.

Even though the team is intrigued by Stroud, they will keep Prescott till he becomes a free agent in 2025. And fans are sure that they will not try to find a new QB.
A fan commented that the billionaire owner and General Manager of Dallas will probably not bring a QB1.
Nothing will change with Jerry. Fortunately.

This fan thinks that other teams will steal Stroud from the Cowboys. They have 26th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
He's not going to last long enough for the cowboys to pick him.

There is a theory that the team leaked this notion so that it offers some time for the 29-year-old QB to be reasonable in contract negotiations that may take place this offseason.
It's just talk. Jerry ain't making any splash okay for a QB, he just likes to have people keeping him relevant in the news.

Dak is about to start the third year of a four-year contract that was negotiated when he had the Cowboys by the throat. Prescott earns $31 million in 2023, but his cap figure is $49.13 million because of prior payments. The cap charge will rise to $52.13 million the following year. If the Cowboys were able to get Stroud, perhaps they would elect to keep Prescott through 2023 before deciding whether to trade him in 2024 or keep him for the final year of his contract. But, given that they hold the 26th pick in this year’s draft, it is rather challenging. It is believed that this flirtation will end in failure.
