Carter paid a walk-on to eat

There is speculation that Jalen Carter, a defensive lineman from Georgia, could be a top-five pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. However, Todd McShay recently raised concerns about Carter’s character, which may not sit well with NFL teams. Fortunately, a new report from Bruce Feldman reveals this may not be true. Jalen Carter has demonstrated his generosity off the field by using his NIL money to support a fellow teammate.

According to Georgia’s defensive line coach Tray Scott, in an interview with ‘The Athletic,’ Jalen Carter took action when he discovered that a walk-on teammate could not afford to eat with the rest of the team. Carter made sure that his teammate was not left out. “Jalen heard about that. I’m the only walk-on in the defensive line room, and he goes, ‘I’m not gonna let that happen.’ So he used his scholarship money to pay for me to get lunch daily,” Wallace told Feldman.

Carter explained to Feldman that since he had been given the chance, he only wanted to care for one of his brothers. Jalen is not the type of person to boast or demand favors. The team nutritionist informed defensive line coach Tray Scott of Carter’s actions. And these actions garnered Carter’s fans’ attention that raged a debate. 

A genuine person who has a good heart

Jalen Carter was selected as the No. 9 overall pick by the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2023 NFL Draft. The defensive tackle contributed to the team’s success in winning consecutive national championships. He made it to the news after being sued for a fatal crash accident, but now things have changed. Fans have reacted and are impressed by Jalen’s heartwarming support for his fellow mate.

A fan wrote, “Bro made one mistake as a college student; we all know how college is. Carter seems like a genuine person who has a good heart. You can see in videos how he’s the shy one of his Georgia teammates along with Davis, with Nakobe and Nolan being the loud leaders.”
