While the upcoming season is just around the corner, players have already begun bidding farewell to the offseason with lighthearted jabs at each other. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, faced a similar fate and found himself in the line of fire from the Bengals receiver, Ja’Marr Chase. When the latter’s teammate, Joe Burrow, was asked about his favorite quarterback in the game, he chose the 2x MVP. But Ja’Marr had an unexpected reaction to the answer.

Ja’Marr mocked Burrow’s answer with, “Pat Who?” This remark from the wide receiver was already sending shockwaves throughout the NFL world, and then 2x Super Bowl champ clapped back in the most ruthless way possible.

Patrick Mahomes’s savage response

After the Chiefs’ ring ceremony, just a day back, Mahomes posted a photo of him wearing his two rings with a caption, that read, “That’s who” The whole internet broke down after Mahomes’ photo was posted on the internet with a caption that took a straight jab at the wide receiver from Bengals. This whole interaction seemed like a playful jab and seemed to have reached a conclusion. However, Ja’Marr’s recent comment on Burrow’s Instagram post says otherwise.

The Bengals QB posted his picture holding a football and wearing their black team jersey, with a caption, “Dark Knight” a reference to the fictional superhero, Batman who is also fond of the color Black. Nevertheless, Ja’Marr’ commented on the picture that says, “(TOP 2) DAM SURE AINT 2!

Ja’Marr’s comment clearly takes a jab at Patrick Mahomes, who is regarded as the top quarterback in the league. He tries to convey that Burrow is far better than Mahomes, and is deserves a better rank than the no. 2 he currently stands on.

Who will come at the top between the Chiefs and the Bengals?

Setting aside the drama, which might escalate only if Mahomes chooses to respond again, there are still more significant plays on the horizon. Both of the teams are still the biggest contenders in the AFC division. Although the Chiefs have won last season’s AFC championship against the Bengals, the runner-up team isn’t just sitting around with their loss.

The Chiefs dealt a blow to their strength when their offensive tackle, Orlando Brown Jr. was snatched away by the Cincinnati Bengals. It was far worse for Mahomes, as Brown was like a brother to him. He even shared in an interview that it sucked that his teammate was no longer playing with him and made the opponent team a bit stronger. Nevertheless, the Chiefs also have made significant changes to the team and even recruited Jawaan Taylor and Donovan Smith to provide better guards for their team QB. The upcoming is season is only a few months away, and we are yet to see how these two teams perform at the stage.
