Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally snapped out of their losing streak to beat the reigning Super Bowl champions Los Angeles Rams. The game was closely fought, but the Bucs prevailed in the end. The Rams’ head coach Sean McVay gave a brutally honest assessment of the team’s performance after the game.

And he included himself in it too.

Sean McVay on what the Rams need

Both the Rams and the Buccaneers needed a win in this game. While Tom Brady and the Bucs were on a three-game losing streak, the Rams haven’t played like the reigning Super Bowl champions either.

After an intense game, the Bucs won by just three points. And coach Sean McVay hinted at player changes to revive the season for the team that, just months before, lifted the Vince Lombardi trophy.

“We have to figure out a lot of different things to be able to do well. Whether it’s different players, whether it’s different schemes, different things like that but this is not good enough,” McVay said in the post-game press conference. He also included himself in the assessment saying he needs to do better himself. “I have to do better too. I am a huge part of this. And, you know, that’s the reality of where we are at right now,” the Rams HC added. So, is change afoot at the SoFi Stadium?

Rams season so far

The Rams lifted the Super Bowl title at the end of last season. So naturally, the fans expected them to be in a good position coming into this season. But things have not turned out that way for the NFC outfit from the city of Angels. The team started their season in a disastrous fashion, losing to this year’s highflyers the Buffalo Bills. Since that start, the team has only won three of the next seven games. Not a great show for a defending champion at all.

The team’s last win came against the Carolina Panthers in the game week six. Week seven was a bye for them and they have lost twice in a row since coming back from that. Against the Bucs, they were expected to win. But the Rams scored just one touchdown in the game. Most of their points came from field goal attempts. They lost 13-16.
