Tom Brady was, in his own right, a generational talent. When he was drafted as the 199th pick in 2000 by the New England Patriots, no one would’ve expected him to rise to the level he did. After all, he had been picked at the very end. However, 23 years and 22 seasons later, Brady has become one of the best quarterbacks to play the game, and arguably the best in his generation of players. His unique ability to throw from within the pocket as well as create magnificent passes is considered unique. But is Brady really that unique? Or is he just another generational talent that will be forgotten? These questions might be answered sooner than most would expect.

There has been a young, emerging QB who seems like he might be the second coming of Brady. While he is still in high school, his style of play and his game sense seem to be emulating that of Brady’s. The name of the youngster with such gifted potential is Jonah McCowen.

The high schooler, Jonah McCown, has created a lot of hype with the way he has been playing. He has been absolutely dedicated to the sport, with actions that prove that he just lives and breathes football. The way his videos have been cropping up, people have even predicted him to be the next Tom Brady. His throwing style, demeanor, and love for the game have a lot of people thinking that he might be the NFL GOAT’s second coming. Interestingly, the high schooler also has the support of his father and uncle, both with great ties to the NFL.

His father, Luke McCown, has been a QB in the NFL for various teams, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He even has his uncle, Josh McCown, mentoring him. Josh is currently a part of the coaching staff of the Carolina Panthers. Interestingly, the youngster’s record so far has been absolutely brilliant. He has recorded 24 touchdowns in his junior year along with a whopping 2,200 yards. He has also grabbed the attention of universities like Texas State and Louisiana Tech. Lastly, he is in line to be one of the 4 who was nominated for the Texas Private School Podcast’s Division III Quarterback of the Year award.

With such interesting accolades, the future of the young quarterback is certainly bright. In fact, as compared to Brady, McCown seems to be doing better in terms of the numbers.

What was Brady’s record in high school?

While Brady became highly touted in the NFL very quickly, his high school career was not as impressive. The QB only had two starting seasons in high school. Before that, he hadn’t played a single down as a backup. Interestingly, in two seasons as a starter, Brady completed 53% of all of his passes. Among these passes, Brady threw for 31 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. All in all, Brady did well, considering the kind of high school he played for. However, his supposed ‘clone’ definitely has a more promising high school record than him as a junior.

While the high school youngster is being highly touted, he still has a lot more to do before he reaches the level of Brady. It only remains to be seen if McCown will end up becoming the next Brady in the coming years.
