Tom Brady isn’t a man to mince his words. And he definitely didn’t hold back during a recent appearance on HBO’s show ‘The Shop’. During a segment of the show co-hosted by NBA star LeBron James and his business partner Maverick Carter, Brady talked about his brief foray into the world of free agency last season. 

After being released by the New England Patriots, a number of NFL franchises contacted Brady to sign him up for the 2020 season. But one franchise’s decision making really sparked a fire in Tom Brady

After contacting the QB, the unnamed NFL franchise apparently cooled their interest in Brady towards the latter half of negotiations. This irked Brady who felt he was definitely better than the quarterback option the franchise had and prompted him to say, “you’re sticking with the motherf**ker?”

So who is this “motherf**ker” that Tom Brady was referring to and which franchise would possibly turn a cold shoulder towards the GOAT? A number of names have been speculated to be the ones Brady referred to. 

The Las Vegas Raiders, Chicago Bears, and the San Francisco 49ers were among the franchises that NFL insider’s linked to Brady’s comment. 

And now weeks after the show airing, Tom Brady discussed at length about his recent statement.

During an interview with SiriusXM, Tom Brady was asked about which NFL QB and franchise he was referring to when he made the statement. But it seems that Tom Brady isn’t ready to spill the beans.

“There are private things for me that are going to remain motivational for me,” Brady said. “They know who they are … it’s fine. Everyone has a choice to choose. I think what you realize is, there are not as many smart people as you think,” he added while clearly taking another jibe.

“That’s just the reality. I think it’d be a no-brainer if you said, ‘Hey, you’ve got a chance to get Wayne Gretzky on your team, or you got a chance to have Michael Jordan on your team.’ . . . ‘Oh, we don’t need him, no thanks. We’re good.”
