“Not A Soap Opera…”: Sean McDermott Dodges Damar Hamlin Question In Dramatic Fashion

The NFL world was shocked by the recent Damar Hamlin incident. Fortunately enough, the free safety was able to make a miraculously quick recovery. The Buffalo Bills player seems to be doing better. With his recovery, the Bills fans are now shifting their focus back onto the playoffs. Furthermore, the coaching staff of the Bills is also back in playoffs mode, along with their head coach. Sean McDermott recently took a press conference before the impending playoffs. During the press conference, the coach did something very unexpected.

McDermott was questioned about Damar Hamlin coming back and the head coach dodged the question in a dramatic fashion. After a clip of him avoiding the question went viral on Twitter, fans had an interesting reaction to the coach’s words.

The head coach was asked about the status of Damar Hamlin’s return to practice. Furthermore, he was also questioned if he believed that Hamlin’s possible return was the team turning in a positive direction. However, the head coach sidestepped the question very well.

The head coach seemingly did not appreciate the line of questioning and he took a direct route of avoiding it. He answered in a cryptic sense and said, “you guys are great, man this is uh now we’re just focused on in this the game honestly I appreciate where you’re going with that but uh this is not a soap opera so we’ve got one game to get ready for and that’s really what we’re focused.” Fans had an interesting reaction to his way of avoiding the question. One fan spoke about how the Bills franchise is like a soap opera.

Another fan speculated on what the coach’s smirk might mean.

However, most fans were just confused as to what had brought on such a response.

Recently, it seems like the Bills fans have been having a good time with the Twitter activity of their home team. Just a few days ago, Bills fans were singing a different tune with reference to Hamlin’s recovery and his message on Twitter.

Furthermore, they were absolutely ecstatic as the free safety had addressed his fans in a humble manner. It is safe to say that the fans are being forced to see it all, much like a soap opera.

Even after the head coach’s cryptic response, the speculation of Hamlin returning has been spreading like wildfire. Bills fans as well as the entire NFL world are eager to see him back on the field. It only remains to be seen if the cryptic response by McDermott meant that Hamlin will indeed be returning to the field.
