Lamar Jackson is out of contract in a few days and will become an unrestricted free agent soon. And according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Ravens might just use a ‘non-exclusive’ franchise tag on the QB going forward. That will allow the Ravens to see if anyone is interested in Jackson’s services. If any other franchise does offer the QB a contract, the Ravens will have an option to match it. And if they don’t, then they will get two first-round draft picks.
Update: Several people around the NFL believe that the #Ravens have strongly considered using the non-exclusive tag on QB Lamar Jackson, per @JFowlerESPN

The fans think it is over between Jackson and the franchise. While many think that the Ravens might have got more compensation for the QB, some are of the opinion that it is a good move. Here are some fan reactions.
This fan wants more compensation in exchange of Jackson.
At that point why not just trade him for 3 firsts and get more compensation?

Another fan wants to know if the two first rounders will be for this season’s draft or the next.
Would the first first be for this year or next year’s draft in this case?!

This fan is looking for three first round picks for Jackson, like the Cleveland Browns.
Browns gave up 3 first rounders for Watson so Ravens should easily get that in return for Lamar

Another fan wonders if the Ravens really think that nobody is going to pay Jackson what he wants.
Do the Ravens really think another team isn’t going to pay him what he is asking for?

But this fan thinks that no team will take the QB for two first-rounders.
Nobody is taking Lamar for 2 first rounders

Another fan thinks it is a smart play by the Ravens on the Jackson situation.
People clowning Ravebs but this seems hella smart?? Now they can let Lamar “test the market” and still have a chance to match any offer he receives. If you’re a team that wants to keep a star player but not overpay then then might be the smartest thing you can do.

Jackson wants a fully guaranteed contract like the one the Browns gave Deshaun Watson. But is it too much to ask in the QB market at the moment?
The contract conundrum
When the Browns signed Deshaun Watson on an insane contract, it looked like that they broke the QB market. They gave their new QB a huge contract with guaranteed money. And the Ravens are currently feeling the heat of that deal.

The 2019 NFL MVP wants something similar to Watson’s $230 million fully guaranteed contract. The Ravens’ best offer till date is $133 million guaranteed. And many fans think that Jackson is an injury risk, so the guaranteed money is a risk. But Jackson has established himself as a great QB over the years. And many experts also believe that the franchise should pay him what he wants. Will he get what he wants in Baltimore, or will he go somewhere else?
