The Houston Texans made a huge splash in the 2023 NFL Draft by snagging CJ Stroud as the No. 2 pick. Now, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, CJ Stroud has sealed the deal with the team on a four-year contract. CJ Stroud’s contract is even more impressive compared to the highly acclaimed star of the draft night who was set to select as the number one pick.
But at present, CJ Stroud’s contract is a jaw-dropping 120% more lucrative than ex-Kentucky’s QB deal. None other than Will Levis, whose NFL draft experience was a mixed bag. He was projected to be a top-10 pick, but sadly, things went south, and he was left out of the first round altogether.

The pact of Texans‘ rookie QB is a whopping $36.3 million in total. Plus, Stroud will pocket a massive $23.38 million signing bonus, and the whole sum is fully guaranteed. Compared to draft night’s star, Will Levis, CJ Stroud’s contract is even more stunning. Levis reportedly inked a contract worth $9.54 million over four years, along with a $3.93 million signing bonus, per Adam Schefter’s report on July 24.

Stroud showed off his skills as a starting quarterback, completing a remarkable 69.3 percent of his passes for 8,123 yards, 85 touchdowns, and just 12 interceptions in two seasons, during his time at Ohio State.
Still, Levis now has a contract to celebrate and the chance to make a big splash in the league. Both Stroud and Levis have thrilling journeys ahead, and football fans will be pumped to see how they fare in the upcoming seasons.

The next big thing to show?
In 2022, Levis lit up the field with Kentucky, slinging for 2,406 yards and 19 touchdowns, while also snagging 10 interceptions. The Wildcats had a solid season, ending with a 7-4 record. After his stint with Kentucky, Levis joined the Titans. During the off-season workouts, he got to train with other talented quarterbacks like Ryan Tannehill and Malik Willis.
On the flip side, Houston made some waves in this year’s draft by picking Stroud and then trading up to get the No. 3 pick to land Alabama sack-master Will Anderson Jr. right after that. Stroud had a stellar college career at Ohio State, earning two Heisman Trophy finalist nods in a row. As some NFL teams have already kicked off their training camps, both the Titans and the Texans will start their training camps on Wednesday, July 26. It will be a thrilling time for football fans as they look forward to the performances of Levis with the Titans and Stroud with the Texans.
