During the Let’s Go! Podcast, Tom Brady talks about learning from a loss and moving forward for the upcoming game against the Chiefs. He also speaks on Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen’s recent loss, comparing it with one of Mike Tyson’s legendary boxing matches.
TB12 underestimates no one
Tom Brady mentioned, “Every team is trying to reach a higher level and you do that through a lot of practice and a lot of work. Some of the early games yesterday, not many people would have thought KC would go into Indy and lose to the Colts, but they did. You wouldn’t think Buffalo would lose to Miami, but they did. Every week, It seems like it’s something different, and that’s why people love watching sports. That’s just the reality of sports too. I mean, Buster Douglas. No one thought Buster Douglas would beat Mike Tyson. You go to these Kentucky Derby and there’s 50 to one shot to win, and I’m not saying that happens every week, but there’s a skill element that comes into everything.”
Brady referred to the Mike Tyson vs. Buster Douglas matchup at the Tokyo Dome in 1990. Iron Mike entered the match undefeated but came out of the squared circle after facing his first-ever loss. It was a moment that altered the course of heavyweight boxing heritage.
Tom Terrific made an interesting parallel, yet he would misjudge none of the QBs. Regardless, he has a huge matchup with one of his Super Bowl foes.
