The NFL draft revealed that the 5″10 Bryce Young is projected to be the future of the league. While other players may have seemed more obviously gifted in terms of their physique, Young went on to be the first pick. After he got picked, the NFL rumor mill as well as analysts made different projections about his career. Amidst all of the newfound expectations, Young took advice from the NFL GOAT, Tom Brady.

Young, recently, revealed that he went on to have a one-on-one session with Brady. In this session, he spoke about his expectations from his upcoming time in the league. He also mentioned how speaking to Brady gave him a lot of clarity that he needed as a young QB.

Bryce Young’s thoughts on getting advice from Tom Brady

As a youngster fresh off the draft, Young obviously needed some advice. Therefore, it made complete sense that he went to Brady to speak about the kind of problems he would have to tackle. As per the Panthers, Young mentioned, “I was able to ask him some questions about his career, kind of his mindset going toward it. For me, obviously being a young quarterback, I wanted to know things that he wished he knew at this age and things that he felt were key for him to have success. I think that’s something that’s pretty invaluable.”

It made sense that Bryce wanted to take advice from a legend like Brady. However, it was interesting to note that Brady himself had been a very low pick. He had gone for the 199th pick in his draft class, something that had grated at him.

From Zero to Hero: The Brady Story

While Brady had been among the last ones to get picked, he had some supreme confidence in himself. Even as a youngster, he was adamant to prove his naysayers wrong. As a young QB, he had brash reactions to being called average by different scouts. Even as a rookie, he had compared himself to the likes of QBs like Joe Montana. This was when Brady was merely a rookie without any Super Bowl rings under his belt. However, it seems like he was aware of his greatness from early on.

While Brady’s supreme confidence in himself paid off, Young seemed to need some support from the GOAT. It only remains to be seen how much Brady’s advice will pay off in the upcoming season.
