In a progressive step to expand the popularity of the NFL, the league has announced the designated teams for international games in 2023. And guess what? all of them are AFC franchises set to create a new history on foreign soil. More or less, it seems Roger Goodell’s commitment to increasing the NFL’s reach is bearing fruit.

According to the updates shared by credible league sources, five teams will play their regular season games in the UK and Germany. Surprisingly, Mexico is not on the list, and the only purpose-built NFL stadium outside the US, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, will host two games next year.

The Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, and New England Patriots are the selected teams. The Bills and the Titans will play in London; however, the other two teams, the Chiefs and the Patriots. shall gear up for Germany.

The location and exact date of these games aren’t released yet. However, based on the previous reports, Munich and Frankfurt are expected to be the prime venues to host these games. Meanwhile, fans’ happiness saw no bounds and started flooding social media with endless demands.

The Jaguars will be the only team to mark their presence as the home team away from the US. They will play in Wembley Stadium with full authority over marketing rights and other related business development initiatives.

Meanwhile, the Patriots and the Chiefs have expanded their presence by being part of the NFL’s International Home Marketing Area (IHMA) program that enables international marketing rights. Anyways, it is going to be a fun event to watch.

Indeed, the increasing popularity of Pro Football outside the US has enabled the league management to expand its reach beyond the borders. Soon, the fans can expect a separate division representing the foreign franchises. Meanwhile, O’Reilly, who made the announcement, expressed his gratitude and cooperation with the teams.

“Growing the league and our sport internationally is a major strategic priority for the NFL, and we are excited to again be playing five games outside of the United States in 2023,” the VP said, per NFL.com. “We know how important live regular season games are to our passionate global fans, and we thank our clubs for their strong, long-term commitment to this important initiative.”
