It’s no secret that quarterback Joe Burrow was the chosen one for the Cincinnati Bengals organization during the 2020 NFL Draft. Burrow recently revealed that he was among the few people who knew where he is heading before the event. The organization showed a lot of faith and patience with Burrow throughout the entire process, and it eventually paid off last season.

During his recent appearance on the Full Send Podcast, Burrow shares how the whole process began from his point of view. He states, “We had a combine, I didn’t do anything at the Combine, and our Pro Day got canceled. So I didn’t do any of the Pre Draft stuff that other guys were doing. So I was just able to train and focus on getting better cause you know, I don’t know if I am allowed to say this, but they had told me months in advance that I was gonna be their guy.”
Burrow was raring to go and get his journey in the NFL started. Despite getting sidelined by injuries in his rookie season, Burrow was determined to make his 2nd season count. It proved to be the turning point in his NFL career. The franchise won the AFC Championship game for the first time in 33 years.

The Bengals entered the NFL playoffs following a 10-7 win-loss record and aiming to win their first playoff game. After convincingly defeating the Las Vegas Raiders in the Wild Card game, Burrow stepped up to deliver a 19-16 victory against the Tennessee Titans. The confidence was high among the young roster as the Bengals were in with the chance of going to the Super Bowl.
In an important game against the Kansas City Chiefs that went into overtime, Burrow rallied the team. He brought them close enough with a chance for scoring a field goal. Bengals kicker Evan McPherson was a big factor in securing their victories in the previous rounds.
He kept his sublime record going against the Kansas City Chiefs to crown the Bengals as the AFC Champions.

After losing a close game to the Super Bowl champions, the Los Angeles Rams, Burrow is unwilling to accept defeat. The 2022 NFL campaign will be another opportunity for Burrow to get back to the Super Bowl once again. The Bengals QB will possibly try to change the outcome for establishing his legacy.
