The Joe Judge-led New York Giants were one of the surprise packages of the 2020 NFL season. Not much was expected from the New York-based franchise after star running back Saquon Barkley suffered an ACL tear in Week 2 of the season itself. But Daniel Jones led the Giants to a 2nd placed finish in the NFC East with a 6-10 record.

In fact, they narrowly missed out on making the NFL Playoffs in 2020. Despite major positives, quarterback Daniel Jones failed to convince critics of his credentials enduring a tough outing in his second full season as a starter. Jones threw 2,943 yards with 11 passing TDs against 10 interceptions.

He threw almost double those passing touchdowns in 2019 (24). But certain experts believe Joe Judge’s boys will challenge for the NFC East title yet again in 2021, especially with the return of Barkley and the signing of WR Kenny Golladay. However, Nick Wright remains unconvinced.

Analyst lashes out at New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones

Popular American sports analyst Nick Wright is known for his blunt takes on live television. He was the latest to comment on New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, who is entering his third season as an NFL starter.

“Daniel Jones might have been the only full-time starting quarterback last year, who statistically had a worse season than Cam Newton...He had almost started 14 games. He had 11 touchdowns all season and had zero 300 yard games all season.

“Daniel Jones, in his career which is 26 starts he has 51 interceptions and fumbles. That’s two a game, so I don’t care who they added. I don’t care all of a sudden about your weapons (because) the quarterback isn’t good…

“Kenny Golladay is going to literally give Daniel Jones his hands his physical hands so he stops fumbling the football,” Wright said on the show.

Kenny Golladay is a strong statement move by the Giants. But they will need the returning Saquon Barkley to step up as well if they want to make up for the average displays of their starting quarterback.
