Consider being a hockey superstar, but having to deal with a chronic injury that limits your performance. That was the case for Sidney Crosby, who had broken vertebrae in his neck that went undetected for months. He tried different treatments, but nothing seemed to work. Then, he got a surprising tip from sports legend, none other than Tom Brady.
In the year 2012, the quarterback suggested Crosby visit his trusted health guru, Alex Guerrero, who had helped Brady recover from a knee injury. Crosby took the advice and flew to Utah to see Guerrero. This story shows how sports professionals sometimes share trusted resources to support each other in their journey to recovery from injuries.

The injury was affecting his brain and causing his symptoms. Pittsburgh Sports Memories via Twitter stated: “Nobody could figure it out. And Tom Brady says, ‘Hey, there’s a specialist that you could see. He’s out in Utah’. And apparently, Sidney Crosby takes his advice because, since he’s a specialist, the specialist discovers that it’s not the concussion symptoms, it’s a neck injury. And apparently, once they treat that, Crosby returns to the ice, and he’s really been fine ever since.”

The specialist, Alex Guerrero, was recommended by Tom Brady, the NFL legend. Guerrero had helped Brady recover from knee surgery. Crosby had a soft-tissue neck injury, not a fracture & he needed more time to heal and return to the ice.
In 2012, The Trib also mentioned that Brady and Crosby are close friends, like a contemporary version of ProStars! Crosby recently completed his 18th NHL season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, still going on unbeatable.

Brady’s Magical Moment in Guerrero’s Hands
According to NBC Sports January 2012 report, Brady in his career focused a lot on his core and came up with a unique shoulder program with his trainer, Alex Guerrero. Guerrero didn’t reveal the exact details of the program but mentioned that Brady’s commitment to it was crucial in reducing the arm soreness he used to experience in the past.
During a preseason game, Brady endured a massive hit, but his hard work on his shoulder and core helped him withstand it. The turning point came in Week 4 when the Ravens played against the Patriots. Brady displayed improved confidence in his body and completed many passes with great success. This dedication led to Brady being named the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year for that season.
