The NFL makes certain decisions that sometimes don’t sit too well with fans. A bone of contention for fans has always been calls and fines for defensive players against so called prized-QBs of the league. Furthermore, this contention seems like it’s at an all-time high during the playoffs and the supposed biases against certain players. In the case of Patrick Mahomes, it was the play that led to his recent ankle injury. Fans initially had an intense reaction to the way Mahomes was injured. However, after a recent call, it seems like fans are back to passionately stating their opinions on Twitter.

NFL insider, Tom Pellissero, revealed some news through Twitter that had the fans going crazy. He revealed that Arden Key was fined a sum amount of $15,914 for roughing up the Chiefs’ backup QB Chad Henne. Interestingly, the NFL did not fine Key for the part he played in causing Mahomes’ ankle injury.
Fans reacted to this news in some interesting ways. One fan spoke about how Key should have been fined for Mahomes and not Henne.
Should’ve been fined for Mahomes but not Henne. He clearly saw the ball was gone, collapsed his knees on his ankle and grabbed his shoulder. Looked intentional to me. But the Henne one wasn’t RTP imo

Furthermore, there were calls saying Keys should not have been fined at all.
There was nothing to fine him for. It was an unfortunate injury that’s been a part of football since day one.

There were also mentions on how Trevor Lawrence’s hit was not fined.
I guess the NFL went as blind as the refs on the hit on Trevor, though.

Fans also accused the league of playing favorites for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Soft league always going to suck up the chiefs

Furthermore, fans also wanted some repercussion against the referees.
Start fining the Referees maybe they’ll start calling the games like there supposed to be called.

Completely intentional. He was trying to take out Mahomes. Loser.

It seems like fans were also comparing the Mahomea situation to Trevor Lawrence getting hit by the defensive linesman of the Chiefs. There were claims that the league was pandering to the Chiefs. However, trusty Tom Pelissero brought some news that proved the fans wrong.
Breaking down the Lawrence-Mahomes comparisons
During their divisional round, Jaguars’ QB, Trevor Lawrence seemed like he had been roughed up by defensive linesman Khalen Saunders. Fans were enraged that no action was taken against him while action was being taken against Arden Key. However, Pelissero cleared up this supposed double standard.
One more: The NFL fined #Chiefs DL Khalen Saunders $6,632 for roughing #Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence in last week’s playoff game. No flag was thrown.
