Colin Kaepernick’s recent workout with the Las Vegas Raiders has led to a flurry of speculations in the NFL world. Fans, teams, and analysts are all waiting with bated breath to see if the former Niner would finally get his ticket back to the NFL via the Raiders, after an enforced hiatus of over five years.

This workout with the Raiders was Kaepernick’s first NFL workout after a very long time. The 2016 season was Kaepernick’s last in the NFL, which ended in a pitiful 1-10 record.

A flurry of activity among fans and analysts

The news of Kaepernick’s workout has led football analysts and critics to delve into the possibilities for Kaepernick’s return to the league.

Rich Eisen, in his show, stated that Kaepernick landing a full-fledged workout with the Raiders was no less than a “seismic event” in itself. While PFT analyst Mike Florio mentioned on Eisen’s show that Kaepernick’s workout may not lead to a signing, but would definitely be a significant step in removing the stigma around Kaepernick.

Many shared the sentiment that getting a single workout might not mean Kaepernick gets signed immediately by a franchise. But it might definitely get him the start he requires getting back to professional football. Analysts and fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions on the matter.

Despite a flurry of support on Twitter, Kaepernick would do well to pick avoid much media spotlight and work towards getting selected for more workouts, in order to pick up his career.

The long hiatus might also mean Kaepernick might deal with more of a rusty brain than rusty muscles. The physical ability may still be there, but it would take time to shake off the mental side of things.

What do the Raiders feel about Kaepernick?

Kaepernick’s workout apparently went well, leaving the Raiders management highly impressed. But coach Josh McDaniels of the Raiders remained tight-lipped on the subject, saying, “Just by standard procedure, we will only talk about the people that are on our team.”

While the Raiders have released little information about the workout, sources revealed Kaepernick was well-conditioned and had good arm strength. It shows the efforts Kaepernick has been putting in over the last six years to return to the NFL.
