In 1997, he departed the Colts and went on to play for the Saints, Seahawks, Jaguars, and Vikings, eventually bidding farewell to the league in 2022 and venturing into real estate.

This football legend made significant contributions to the college where his football journey began. His achievements led to his induction into the Barkley Hall of Fame in 2005. The same college also witnessed his All-American honor, leaving an enduring mark in history. Throughout his career, he started 109 games, tallying 25 touchdowns and amassing 6291 receiving yards.
In the aftermath of his passing, fans and fellow athletes came together to send love and prayers to Dawkins and his family.

A genuine artist on the football field, he didn’t confine himself to just that. Off the field, he wholeheartedly pursued other passions. Apart from his real estate career, the former wide receiver also dedicated himself to training as a police officer in San Jose, California. The principal owner of his former team took to Twitter to share a heartfelt message and send condolences to his family, writing, “Rest in peace, Sean Dawkins. I am shocked and saddened. My prayers and condolences to Sean’s family.“
A former teammate of Dawkins, Derwin Gray took to Twitter to share a heartfelt note, writing, “Another one of my teammates, Sean Dawkins has passed away at age 52. Sean and I were in the Colts 1993 Draft Class. He was one of the first big WR in the NFL at 6’5, 220. He was elegant, such a marvelous football player. Tough day”

Cal Football’s official page also penned a note, tweeting, “An incredible father and husband, and a great Golden Bear. Rest In Peace, Sean Dawkins (1971 – 2023)”
