The Carolina Panthers parted ways with head coach Matt Rhule this season. Following a 1-4 disastrous start to the season, the coach found himself on the short end of the diving plank. He was the first HC to be fired this season. And while the NFL is an ever-turning cycle of changes, especially in the coaching department, Rhule’s new destination comes out as a surprise to many.

Rhule will be joining the University of Nebraska football program as the head coach. The announcement just came today and while it is all very exciting news for football fans, it still surprised people to see the 47-year-old join the Cornhuskers. “It is a tremendous honor to be chosen to lead the Nebraska Football program,” Rhule said upon his appointment. “When you think of great, tradition-rich programs in college football, Nebraska is right at the top of the list.”

Somehow, the move has created a lot of excitement in the NFL world. Even Pat McAfee has expressed his delight over the appointment.

While some show their support, loads of people have come forth with their doubts about the program and the coach.

Even this fan believes that the place is not a good fit for Rhule.

On the other hand, there are people who have seen the impressive college football resume that the HC has. Therefore believes in him to deliver.

And that is exactly what this person reminded everyone else of.

And after going from one impressive job to another, this fan had this to say.

However, unbeknownst to some, Rhule actually passed up on a paid vacation to get the job.

Even though the Panthers parted ways with the coach in just three years, there is still around $40 million remaining on the board. As the 8-year contract had $62 million guaranteed to Rhule.

Now the Cornhuskers will be hoping that Rhule can replicate the magic he did when he turned around the Baylor program from a 1-11 team in 2017 to a successful campaign of 11-3 in 2019. And while Nebraska is one of the big boys in the NCAA, it has gone through 6 straight losing seasons. And have failed to make a Bowl game since 2016 and winning more than 10 games in a season since 2012.
