After the e-commerce conglomerate acquired the rights of TNF, the NFL formalized a huge change in the game. Amazon through its NFL on Prime Video social media accounts announced the release of a new ball termed the Prime Ball exclusively for Thursday Night Football. This ball is slimmer and slightly elongated than a usual football, which Amazon claims makes it “faster”, “more Aerodynamic” and has a “better grip.”
Matthew Stafford drops a 100-yard bomb with the new Prime Ball
This ball which is a collaborative effort of Wilson, Amazon, and the NFL was then endorsed by star NFL quarterbacks, Russell Wilson, Matthew Stafford, and Justin Herbert. Each of them showcasing superhuman accuracy and strength, leaving NFL fans in disbelief.
The one that dropped the jaws of the fans was by Super Bowl champion Matthew Stafford. The 34-year-old QB who has just returned from an elbow injury threw the new ball for a bizarre 100-yard touchdown. Posting the clip on his new Instagram account Stafford wrote, “Elbow’s feeling good… this new Prime ball will really fly on Thursday Night Football. @nflonprime”

Although his video shook the internet, many fans suspected the clip to be fake.

Russell Wilson and Justin Herbert showcase their unreal skill with the new ball
Russell Wilson and Justin Herbert’s skill with the new ball was equally impressive and hilariously fake. Although fans pointed out the flaws in the unreal clips, however, Amazon’s attempt to catch eyeballs worked well.

Despite the hype about the new ball, it will take time for fans to settle into NFL’s new attempt to bring more thrill to the game. Many fans also criticized the unusual shape of the ball. Although the Prime Ball is only set to be used in TNF, but would it be a good idea to use it to add more spice to the Postseason games too?
