While Tom Brady has been one of the best to play the game of football, he has shown great humility in the past around players of different sports. Even when he played golf with players like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, he has shown the utmost respect for their talent. Furthermore, he was once very eager to showcase his admiration in person for a soccer player from the country of his ex-wife. Sadly, he wasn’t able to meet a soccer player he admired due to some constraining rules of the NFL.

While Brady was with the Patriots, he was very eager to meet up with Real Madrid star, Vinicius Junior. They had a very wholesome set of reactions through social media and even had plans to meet. Sadly, certain rules of the NFL ended up restricting them and the two admiring athletes weren’t able to each other.

The fanboy nature of Tom Brady and Vinicius Junior

The Real Madrid star, Junior has always been a huge fan of American sports. Junior has consistently reached out to big stars from the NBA as well as the NFL. Interestingly, one of the NFL players Junior reached out to was Tom Brady. And it was reportedly two-sided. Brady himself was also impressed with the soccer star and they were very open with their admiration on social media and had plans to meet. However, the NFL came in the way. Per ESPN, the NFL’s COVID protocols weren’t allowing them to meet each other.

While Brady had sent Junior an autographed jersey while he was playing with the Patriots, the QB had invited the Brazilian player to watch him play with the Bucs. However, this was during the pandemic and this stopped the duo from meeting. Interestingly, Junior is not the only friend Brady has who plays another sport. He has been long-term friends with other champions as well.

Brady’s star-studded friendship

Junior is not the only star-studded athlete that Brady is great friends with. He has also been great, long-time friends with tennis champion, Novak Djokovic. Djokovic has spoken about how he and Brady have been in touch over a lot of years. The tennis champion has mentioned that he has sought advice from Brady in terms of being a sportsperson. Furthermore, Brady even recently made an appearance at Djokavic’s tennis match at the 2023 French Open final against Casper Ruud. He was sitting in Djokovic’s box, showcasing support for him along with his wife.

All in all, Brady has a great number of friends who’ve showcased him a lot of support and vice versa. Moreover, since his retirement, Brady has been making good on his promise of spending more time with his friends. It only remains to be seen if Brady will be spending more time with his friends who are accomplished in their own sports.
