The New Orleans Saints vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers clash is probably the most mouth-watering clash from Week One of the NFL. A big factor behind that is the debut of six-time Super Bowl winner and three-time NFL MVP, Tom Brady.

The former New England Patriots man signed a two-year deal with the Buccaneers worth a reported $60 million (with bonuses). He will go up against long-time friend and foe, Drew Brees, who is also one of the oldest quarterbacks in the league.

Here’s a detailed look at both teams, along with injury updates and matchday predictions.

NFL Preview: Tom Brady all set to make his Tampa Bay Buccaneers bow

On paper, the Bucs look like a Top-10 team. Head Coach Bruce Arians will enter his second season in Florida this year. What a summer it has been for Tampa Bay. There have been loads of arrivals apart from Brady. Rob Gronkowski, Leonard Fournette, LeSean McCoy, and rookie Tristan Wirfs all joined in the 2020 offseason.

They are being touted as potential playoff contenders. However, a hamstring injury to star wide receiver, Mike Evans, came as a major blow to Brady and Co. ahead of their season opener on Sunday.

Let’s hope that Chris Godwin will shine in the absence of his partner and Brady secures a win on his return to the league.

Drew Brees-led New Orleans Saints aim for Divisional title once again

Sean Payton is now entering his 14th season as coach of the New Orleans Saints. They had a stellar season in 2019 with a 13-3 record as they were crowned NFC South champions for the third consecutive year.

Drew Brees will once again be key for the Saints heading into the clash against Tampa Bay at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome this weekend.

The likes of WR Michael Thomas, RB Alvin Kamara, and DE Cameron Jordan will also be crucial if they want to upstage the Bucs. DE Marcus Davenport misses out with an elbow injury. But expect the Saints to put up a strong fight at their fortress.

This one’s going to go down to the wire for sure. A Tom Brady vs Drew Brees opener is a mouth-watering feast for NFL fans across the globe. The fact that Evans might miss out due to injury could hurt the Bucs to a great extent. But even without him, their offensive prowess is second to none.

Brady seems determined to add to his Super Bowl tally, but Brees and Co. won’t make things easier for him. The winner of this game could very well be in the lead towards the race for the NFC South Divisional title as well.

Without a doubt, this will be the most-anticipated game from Week One of the NFL.
