The seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady might be a notable name in the world of sports today. But he had always been a slow starter, and his motivation to pursue the game came from his family. The veteran has three elder sisters, and Brady was always the little brother to those fantastic athletes who scripted history in the field of sports.

While speaking in an interview, Brady narrated an inspiring incident from high school about being a little brother and making a promise to himself that turned into a reality.

Today, when Tom Brady looks back, he might be the happiest person to have accomplished what he once hoped. The interviewer asked what it was like to grow up under the shadow of three older sisters who were also great athletes. He said those girls were more competitive and determined than Brady in his childhood. His entire childhood went on listening to the stories and accomplishments of his sisters. One such incident happened in his high school.

“You know You’re Maureen’s brother. You’re Julie’s brother.” He said. “When I was a freshman in high school, I wrote an essay about what it’s like to be a baby brother. I was like, people always refer to me as a baby. So maybe one day I want my sisters referred to as Tommy’s sister.” Brady explained with great pride.

Brady’s oldest sister Maureen was an excellent softball pitcher who made it to the Junior Olympics team at the age of 17. Later on, she earned the All-American honors at Fresno State. The quarterback’s second sister, Julie, was an avid soccer player and went on to earn a scholarship to St. Mary’s.

Brady was never a football player in the early stages of his career. He fancied playing baseball and basketball as a kid, but eventually, in high school, he started taking the sport seriously. Before taking over as a sophomore, Brady was benched for an 0-8 freshman team.

However, he started training to become a quarterback and took his throwing skills to Michigan University. In the initial first two years, he played the role of a backup quarterback. However, in 1998, he debuted as a starter. Surprisingly, he was a backup for Brian Griese, who later on went to become an NFL signal-caller.

As a starter, Brady completed 61.9 percent of his passes. He registered 14 touchdowns and ten interceptions during the time, which is a fair record as a high school player. In 2000, Brady got his NFL ticket with the New England Patriots under a strict head coach Bill Belichick. And the rest is history!
