Rapoport explained that Rodgers’ decision to leave the Packers will not be based on monetary considerations. He said, “First of all, as far as the Rogers thing, I think if he ends up back at the Packers, I do think he gets paid and it’s something I talked about…… I don’t know if it will get to 50, but it’ll get very high.”

The analyst added, “He could have taken the money last year. Remember? Last year he took no new dollars, right?…… But there is no new money. I do not believe from everyone I’ve spoken to that it is about the money for Aaron Rodgers. He’s going to get more money. But I mean, I don’t think it’s about the money for him.”

As a result, McAfee retweeted parts of Rapoport’s comments, rubbishing all speculations about his friend, Rodgers.

Speculations about Aaron Rodgers are escalating

ESPN’s Diana Russini recently reported that Rodgers wants to become the highest-paid player in the NFL by a wide margin. She added, “So, we’re talking about $50 million per year.” However, the Packers cannot afford to pay him that much. Therefore, even if Rodgers hasn’t made a decision yet, it appears that he has made up his mind regarding what he wants to earn in 2022.

Moreover, Nick Wright of ‘First Things First’ said that Rodgers can leave his team for money. In addition, he stated that if the quarterback wants $50 million/year, he can sign with the Dolphins, Broncos, Jets, or Colts. Furthermore, he also said that Rodgers didn’t deserve to be the highest-paid quarterback in the league.
